Hanging Shoes

Not sure why these shoes were hanging in the 'forbidden' garden......Is a form of contemporary art or just someone had his shoes washed and hung them there to dry?

View From the Mole

First time went up to the Mole to have a 360° view of Torino from above.

The view was spectacular, although it was a bit foggy but the Alps are still well visible.

For the price of 7 euro, at least for the first time, I would say it was well worth. The hot-air balloon ' Torino Eye' floating in mid air just enhanced the view.

Conservatorio Verdi At Night

The Conservatory of Music "Giuseppe Verdi" is an institution of higher education, specialization and improvement of research in the arts and music and plays related production activities. The building that houses the conservatory was built in 1928 as the School of Music of the Municipal Technical Office project of architect Giovanni Battista Ricci. The neo-baroque façade Piedmont tends to monumentalise the nineteenth-century piazza Bodoni.

The "Royal Conservatory of Music Giuseppe Verdi in Turin" was established on Feb. 13, 1936 when the existing "Istituto Musicale Giuseppe Verdi", born in 1866 as the "Musical Institute of the City of Turin", was elevated to the rank of school empowered to award official diploma in the music profession. Unlike the classical style of the facade, the interior is characterized by precious eclectic decorations tending to liberty of the hall, the foyer and the Concert Hall. The latter is considered the best acoustic environment of the city and is equipped with an organ concert opened on May 10, 1933. After the war, in this room the RAI orchestra here held her concerts until 1952 with conductors such as Wilhelm Furtwängler, singers as Elizabeth Schwartzkopf and Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau.After a fire in 1984 the Hall was closed for many years, the last renovation was in 2006.

Secret Garden

Once upon a time, there was a garden where people could stroll under the tall trees or around its lovely fountain, over looking at the magnificent landmark of the town which is towering the city center.

Suddenly one day, the heavy gates of the garden were closed by some evil lords, no more accessible to the common people. People can just look though the iron fence and watch the now abandoned garden slowly get neglected and wasted away.

Wild weeds started to overgrow, the beautiful statues started to look dirty with stains of bird's feces. The garden now looks lonely and lifeless.

Then, one day, one of the smaller gate was found opened again and people can sneak into some part of the garden and enjoy it again....
