Here Comes The Pope

For the very first time the Pope Francesco came to visit Turin.

The two days visit is packed, first he went to the Royal palace, then he proceeded to visit the holy shroud at the Duomo. After that, he held a mass in piazza Vittorio which was tightly secured and fully set up for the event, passes to attend the mass had to be booked a month before, huge screens were set up along via po e in various piazza for people who couldn't make it to attend the mass in piazza Vittoria.
After the mass, he traveled to the Archbishopric for lunch. A Roma family, mom, dad and four children who until a few months ago lived in the settlement along Stura Lazio; a lump of homeless; 11 underage boys inmates ; 5 immigrants were the guests of the lunch.
Next he visited the Basilica of Maria Ausiliatrice, and ended the evening by meeting the youth of Piedmont at piazza Vittorio.

Three times he past under my apartment and only once I managed to snap some photo of him from the balcony.

What an interesting documentary. I don`t know if the pope has ever been to Norway, but I have seen him on the news from many other countries.Anyway, you were there, and you got some very good images.

Happy new week!

What great captures! The visit to the shroud did make the news here.

I'm not Catholic, but I like him. A breath of fresh air compared to his predecessor.

The pope visited our country recently and even stayed for more than 3 days!
it was a blessing and a once in a lifetime event, of course,
everything here was at a standstill. I didn't get a chance to wait in line for hours and hours just to get a glimpse of the Holy pope, the crowd was just overwhelming, but the tv playbacks and live moments were all worth it.
Lucky you to get the best of both worlds.
