City Pigeons

Is tradition that rice (uncooked) are thrown onto the groom and bride as blessing. 

Palazzo del Senato Sabaudo is one of the places where couples who don't want to go through religious ceremony can get married, so, often when the couple came out of the palace, rice were thrown onto them and later consumed by the pigeons which are always gathered around there.



The pigeons gathered in front of the building to pick up the rice on the ground....

They've been changing that here in the last twenty years or so. The concern is that something like rice would be bad for the birds. So birdseed is used.
